"Of course. I'LL miss you. Bye."
"Me too. I love you. Bye."
Racel hung on the phone's receiver until she heard the familiar click. She really hated it when Jay was in Manila. They were supposed to be together this summer but he wanted to be with his family, and she had summer classes. "Love and everything else has a price," she told herself.
Racel was going home today. Classes ended yesterday and it would be three weeks before the start of the first semester. She had been taking up summer workshops in Basic Acting. That was necessary for an AB Mass Communications student.
Racel sat down on her bed and looked around the room. She had been living in this boarding house for almost three years now. The room was simply furnished. There was a big cabinet at the corner. Besides, it was her roommate's bed with with clothes scattered all over it. Racel's moved her eyes around the place and made them rest on the table in front of her. On the table was a picture of her and Jay grinning at the camera. She missed him.
She looked up and saw the watch...5:40pm. She jump to her feet and snatched her bag. She had to go now. It would be dark soon. She took the stairs two at a time and got into her red car. She had to hurry. Home was three hours away. She started the engine and started driving home. Racel smiled as she thought of home. The freshly baked goodies that awaited her arrival, the warm hugs and kisses, her own bed-those were the things that made Racel miss home.
So lost was Racel in her memories and her driving that she didn't notice a black Volkswagen following behind her. The driver was Roy Vasquez, the eldest son of Congressman Romeo Vasquez, he was a real handsome guy. But behind that mask of male beauty was an evil soul. Like any sterotypical politician kid, he grew up thinking he could get away with any thing.
